Charles Leclerc is very good at setting one quick lap. He has a massive 21 pole positions. Very good if you look at which car he is driving at this moment. Today we gonna look at who has the most pole positions in a season.
Every driver wants to start a Grand Prix from the front row. Most of the drivers in the Formula 1 field will never have that experience. Mainly because they don't have a car that is capable of doing so.
The driver with the most pole positions in a season at this moment is Sebastian Vettel. He had 15 pole positions in a season of 19 races in 2011. Vettel is followed by Nigel Mansell who had 14 pole positions in a season of 16 races in 1992. A massive result of course and it shows how special the Williams FW14B was. There is a shared third place for Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost who had both 13 pole positions in a season. Senna did this in the epic 1988 season and Prost in 1989 and 1993 season.
Also Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher are on the list. Lewis scored in 2016 12 poles and Michael Schumacher scored 11 poles in the 2001 season.
